Over 108,000 books in the hands of Watauga County children since 2016!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children across the world. They partner with local communities like ours to provide age-appropriate, high-quality books each month to registered children from birth to age five.

At this time, new registrations are limited and restricted to in-person applications due to budget constraints.

We hope to be able to re-open full enrollment once new funding is available. (See accompanying message below).

The Children’s Council will provide Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) to as many Watauga children as our state and private funding will allow. As of February 1, 2025, the Children’s Council will need to raise 100% of the funds needed to enroll new children into the program.  Online registration is not currently available, but in-person registration at our office is open and subject to a wait-list.
