Sharing Practice
May 2
Why it’s important:
Sharing helps children participate in cooperative play and build friendships. In kindergarten, many materials are shared, so flexibility is key.
How to do it:
Use a favorite toy and practice sharing for short periods. Use a timer if helpful so your child knows when they’ll get it back. Reinforce that sharing does not mean losing something forever.
What to look for:
- Allows others to use materials
- Accepts short waiting periods
- Shows gradual comfort with sharing
