Raise Your Hand
July 2
Why it’s important:
Raising a hand before speaking is an important classroom expectation. It helps maintain order, ensures everyone has a chance to participate, and teaches respect for others’ voices.
How to do it:
During conversations or pretend classroom play, encourage your child to raise their hand before speaking. Model this behavior and gently remind them when needed.
What to look for:
- Raises hand with reminders
- Waits to be called on
- Begins to use the strategy independently
